The 20th Hole

You’ve heard of the 19th hole, the place to grab a drink, have a bite to eat, and discuss the round with your playing partners. Welcome to The 20th Hole – Stat Book and Log for Golfers, the book for analyzing your overall game, setting goals and tracking progress, tracking statistics for 40 rounds, recording notes and keys from 50 practice sessions and lessons, starting your personal golf record book, adding new shots to your repertoire, and learning fundamentals, tips, and strategies. By combining your personal golf information with the instruction provided, this book can be a resource to help you improve your game and reach your golf potential.

PLAY.ANALYZE.PROGRESS

The 20th Hole – Stat Book and Log for Golfers, is designed for you to set your golf goals, track your progress, track your statistics and analyze your game for 40 rounds, record important notes and keys from 50 practice sessions or lessons, start your personal golf record book, and add new shots to your repertoire.

The goals section allows you to set short-term and long-term golf goals, track your progress, make adjustments accordingly, and record the results. Writing down your goals helps you set the process in motion and frequently reviewing your goals helps keep you on track and motivated towards achievement.

Tracking specific statistics such as fairways in regulation, greens in regulation, up and downs, sand saves, and putting helps you identify strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies in your game. The book is also set up for you to summarize your stats and take your averages after every five rounds in order to pinpoint any trends in your game. Performing post round analysis will help you to identify areas that need the most work before your next round.

Recording notes from practice sessions and lessons will help you to remember the most important fundamentals, mechanics, swing changes, swing thoughts, tips, and drills you have been working on. Over time, this will provide you with a written history of the most important keys for your individual game.

The record book section is for you to track your scoring records, greatest shots, and highlights from your golfing career. This will provide you with a history of your records and motivate you to set new ones.

Adding to your golf shot repertoire is a section that lists many of the golf shots that are possible to hit. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or more experienced player, there is always a new shot you can learn or improve on. The goal here is to learn as many new shots as possible.

Additionally, there are instructional sections on fundamentals, practicing more effectively, swing thoughts, pre-shot routine, course management, and golf in the off-season. These topics were chosen specifically to help you improve with your statistics, set new records, and achieve your golf goals.

By combining what you’ve learned about your game with the tips and strategies provided, this book can be used as a resource for you to take your game to the next level, and hopefully, reach your full golf potential.

In the October 2008 edition of Golf Digest magazine, Hank Haney, the swing coach for Tiger Woods, wrote an article titled “How Good Can You Get?” In this article, he wrote that you can take the temperature of any player by looking at four stats: total driving, greens in regulation, scrambling, and three-putt avoidance. He wrote that when a player sees where their shots are going, they know which parts of their game need improvement.

The main points of his article go hand in hand with what “The 20th Hole” is designed to help you accomplish. Tracking your statistics in these specific categories will help you discover your true weaknesses and tendencies on the course. Once you know these, you can then focus on making the necessary adjustments to improve.

“I’m a firm believer that an analysis of stats is the way to improvement. This book has space for quick comments, goals, achievements, and every on-course stat imaginable. I would call it the ultimate record of course management!”
-Adam McKaa / Prosnhackers magazine

“Altogether, this is a practical, insightful, and highly usable book that is a great tool for effectively identifying strengths, weaknesses, and trends in your game. I give the book two thumbs up for format, content, and usability!”
-Rick Semple / HeartofGolf.com, The Positive Golf Blog

“"I hit 12 greens, got up and down 3 times with 26 putts. There’s at least one at every club, and you might be him or her. I'm talking about the golfer who takes the game seriously enough to remember most of the key stats from the round. Basically, it's a record book for players as well as useful on-course reminders.”
-Nick Ciattei / The Golf Guide

“When I started recording information about my various shots; both good and bad, I started to see some consistencies that I never knew I had. Knowing specifically what shots to practice on has helped my game.”
-Michael Balkind / Author of Sports Mystery series Sudden Death and Dead Ball
